1st Quarter as a Grade10 Student: A Chapter of Growth and Discovery

As the first quarter comes to an end, I’ve had the chance to look back on what I’ve learned, experienced, and overcome during this part of the school year. It has been both challenging and fulfilling, and I’ve grown not just academically, but also personally.

Throughout this quarter, I’ve learned many concepts across different subjects, especially in Math and English. In Math, I deepened my understanding of quadratic equations, while in English, I improved my skills in analyzing texts and expressing myself more clearly in writing. I also learned the importance of time management and how balancing schoolwork and rest is important for my well-being.

One of the main challenges I faced was managing my time effectively. With multiple assignments, projects, and exams piling up, it was sometimes overwhelming to meet deadlines. There were also moments when I felt unmotivated or distracted, especially during long study hours. Group projects were also a bit difficult at times, especially when communication was not clear among group members.

For me to be able to overcome these kind of challenges, I started using a simple planner to list my tasks and set priorities. This helped me avoid cramming and gave me a clearer sense of what to focus on each day. I also learned to ask for help from my teachers and classmates when I didn’t understand something, instead of just trying to figure it out on my own. For group work, I tried to communicate more openly and contribute actively to avoid misunderstandings.

Moving on, I will continue to improve my time management skills and stay consistent with my planner. I will also take better care of my mental health by giving myself time to rest and recharge when really needed. Most importantly, I will stay focused on my goals and keep challenging myself to do better each day. I know that Grade 10 will not be easy, but I’m ready to face the rest of the school year with a more positive and determined mindset.
